NEW YORK - Recent Columbia graduate Mark Heil is continuing his baseball career in Sweden this summer.

Along with former teammates Dario Pizzano (Pulaski Mariners), Pat Lowery (Orem Owlz) and Jon Eisen (Bad Homburg Hornets), Heil is the fourth member of the 2012 Columbia team to pursue a professional baseball career this summer.

Heil is playing for the Sundsvall Mosquitoes in the Northern Region Series in Sweden. Listed as a utility player for the Mosquitoes, Heil was a catcher for three years with the Lions after missing his entire junior year due to injury. As a senior in 2012, Heil batted .250 and cranked the first home run of his career.
