ORLANDO, Fla. – The Lions rallied in the ninth inning with a homerun by Alex Black but fell by a 5-1 score in the series finale at UCF Monday night at Jay Bergman Field.

The Lions (2-9) outhit the Knights (14-8) five hits to three on the night, a season low for UCF. The Knights closed out the series with a 3-1 advantage.

Eric Skoglund (1-3) earned the win for the Knights as he held the Lions scoreless with a trio of hits and strikeouts in eight innings of work.

UCF took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning after a sacrifice fly by Eric Hempe en route to the victory.

The Lions will continue their spring break road trip with a pair of 6 p.m. games at University of Miami Tuesday, March 19 and Wednesday, March 20.
