NEW YORK – Head men’s soccer coach Kevin Anderson has announced the 2014 schedule for his squad, featuring 16 total matches and seven games at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium.

The Lions open the season on its home pitch with Big Ten opponent Michigan traveling to the Big Apple on Saturday, Sep. 6. The Wolverines finished 2013 with an 8-7-3 overall mark with a 2-3-2 road record.

Columbia remains at home for its second game of the season, hosting Marist on Tuesday, Sep. 9. The Lions hit the road for their next two matches, making the short trip to LIU Brooklyn on Friday, Sep. 12 and then heading north to Connecticut to challenge Quinnipiac on Saturday, Sep. 20.

A quick pit stop back at home to play Fordham on Wednesday, Sep. 24 precedes another short road trip to Iona on Saturday, Sep. 27.

Ivy League competition kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 4 when Columbia takes on Brown on the road. A visit from Seton Hall to the Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium follows on Wednesday, Sep. 8, before the Lions continue conference action at Penn on Saturday, Oct. 11.

Senior Night and the first home Ancient Eight match is slated for Saturday, Oct. 18 against the Tigers of Princeton. After a trip to Binghamton on Wednesday, Oct. 22, Columbia welcomes Dartmouth on Saturday, Oct. 25.

Columbia will play three of its final matches on the road, including Ivy League matches at Yale on Nov. 1 and Harvard on Nov. 8. Sacred Heart represents the final out-of-conference match on Wednesday, Nov. 4 with the season coming to a close on Saturday, Nov. 15 at home against Cornell.
