BAMBERG, BAVARIA, GERMANY – Former Columbia midfielder David Najem has signed a professional contract to play for FC Eintracht Bamberg in the German league Regionalliga Bayern.

Najem was a four-time All-Ivy League selection during his Columbia career, including first team honors as a senior after leading the Lions with 16 points on five goals and six assists. His offensive prowess earned him Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year accolades by College Sports Madness.

"David fits considerably well with our team and since his move to the 1st FC Nuremberg did not work out, we struck immediately,” said FCE Chairman Mathias Zeck regarding the acquisition of Najem. “We will now give David time to settle in Germany and find his place on the team. The guys have been very helpful in welcoming him to the club.”

Najem, who trained locally with the New York Red Bulls club is eligible to suit up for FC Eintracht Bamberg on Thursday against FSV Erlangan Bruck.
