NEW YORK -  The Columbia Athletics' 92nd Annual Varsity C Celebration was filled with many highlights, but three that stand out were the presentation of the Marion R. Phillips Watch, the Dwight D. Eisenhower Watch and the Karen Blank Award.

The Phillips and Eisenhower watches are the two highest academic awards given in the athletics program. The Karen Blank Award, in its inaugural year, recognizes a senior female student-athlete enrolled in Barnard College, who exemplifies the qualities of academic success, athletic achievement, strong sporting behavior and commitment to community.

The watch awards are presented to Columbia Athletics senior student-athletes earning the highest cumulative grade-point averages and at least two varsity letters. Diana Lee (women's basketball) earned the Marion R. Philips Watch and Andrew Heinrich (football) earned the Dwight D. Eisenhower watch.

Lee, a biology major in Columbia College with a 3.95 grade point average, was a four-year member of the women's basketball team. The San Jose, Calif. native played in 69 games during her career with the Lions.

Heinrich, a political science major with a 4.03 grade point average, was an integral contributor on the Columbia football team.

Katarina Kovacevic, a senior on the women's tennis team, was honored as the first recepient of the Karen Blank Award. Kovacevic played a key role in the Lions' 2013 co-Ivy League Championship, the first in program history. The Forest Hills, N.Y. native played to an 8-4 record in dual matches this spring, including going 4-0 as the No. 5 in the Columbia lineup.
