NEW YORK - Columbia's Josh Martin, a 2013 first team All-Ivy League honoree, has signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. News of the signing broke shortly after the conclusion of the National Football League 2013 Draft.
Martin made his first appearance on the All-Ivy League first team after being selected to the second-team in each of the previous two seasons. The Aurora, Colo. native was Columbia's eminent force behind the line of scrimmage, leading the Lions in sacks (6.5) and tackles for a loss (11.5). On Senior Day at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium Nov. 10, Martin tallied three sacks and forced a pivotal fumble to help lead the Lions to a 34-17 win over Cornell. His performance in that game led to Ivy League co-Defensive Players of the Week honors. Martin finished the season fourth on the team with 50 tackles, giving him 140 for his career, 85 of which went into the score sheet as solo efforts.
