Update on Columbia Football - May 21, 2013
Update on Columbia Football
We will do our final regularly scheduled Tuesday Update next week, Tuesday, May 28, which will include a final spring practice review. During the summer, we will have periodic Tuesday Updates all through the summer months.
Two Weeks, Lessons Learned
While the issues of the last two weeks will continue to be a major focus throughout the summer and into next season, we will continue to build and prepare Team #123. We remain committed to the complete development of the men in this program.
A small number of our players fell far short of our expectations and standards. I see this as an opportunity to grow and improve as a team and as individuals. Our actions from this point determine our success in defining this team. We have a large number of players staying in New York for the summer in order to work and prepare together for next season. We have a plan. We are moving forward.
Phi Beta Kappa
Three Columbia Football players were inducted Phi Beta Kappa today, May 21, 2013. Devan Luster, Dean Perfetti and Andrew Heinrich will officially graduate tomorrow as Phi Beta Kappa members. Congratulations Devan, Dean and Andrew!
Jacked for Jacklyn
The Columbia Football Team surpassed their goal of raising $10,000 for the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, a organization that improves the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families. The team raised $10,138 for the foundation in 2013 on behalf of their fellow Lion Stuart MacNaughton (age 5). Columbia Football is in its third year as a member and supporter of the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation. To read more about Stuart’s story, CLICK HERE.
