Football Alumni Networking

Grabbing a drink after work is taking on a new meaning among Columbia Football alumni.  A networking initiative was recently created by former players interested in expanding their professional network and reconnecting with other Football Alumni in the New York area. On the third Wednesday of the month from 7 to 10 p.m., they gather to meet other football alums with whom they discuss everything from the current team's latest win to their journey from graduation to full-time success.

This Wednesday, November 17th, they will be gathering at Mad River Grill and Bar on the Upper East Side.  So far the crowd has been saturated with graduates from the past 2-3 years and the late 1990's.  "We are hoping each month, everyone who has previously attended will bring another former player-- or two or three." said Patricia and Shepard Alexander Head Coach Norries Wilson, "I have not had the opportunity to attend yet since we are in season, but I am hearing great reviews".

"I have been fortunate enough to make it to the first two networking events of the year and they were a great experience. I met a former Lion who works at my company and he has become somewhat of a mentor to me there. It was good to see the guys I graduated with and to reconnect with some older teammates who we lost touch with over the years. Hopefully we can get even more people to come out so we can make the network even stronger, especially connecting the newer alums to the "older" guys." Ralph DeBernardo CC'09

All football alumni who are interested in attending this month please RSVP to Gretchen Schueler at Mad River Grille and Bar is located at 1442 Third Ave. at 82nd Street.

Save the date for next month, December 15th at Mel's Burger Bar.
