Evan Miller Named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week
NEW YORK - Columbia senior linebacker Evan Miller was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Sparked by his final game on Senior Day, Miller was all over the field in Columbia's dramatic 35-28 double-overtime victory over Brown last Saturday.
In the game, Miller posted a career-high 19 tackles, 11 of which were solo and 2 1/2 were for losses behind scrimmage.
Miller also had a hand in on the biggest play of the game, first assisting on a stop of the Bears' third-and-goal attempt from the one-yard line in the second overtime. On fourth and goal, Miller was among a pile of Lions in on the stop to secure the win and give Columbia its first victory of the season.
