NEW YORK - Columbia senior offensive lineman Jeff Adams was named a third team All-American by the Associated Press, it was announced on Thursday.

Adams was one of four Ivy Leaguers to make the AP All-America squad. He is the second Columbian to earn the honor in the last two years after former Lion tight end Andrew Kennedy was a second-team selection in 2010.

In 2011, Adams enjoyed another stellar year manning the blind side for quarterback Sean Brackett. Adams is a three-time All-Ivy League first team honoree, making him the first Columbia football player to garner three straight All-Ivy first teams since Rory Wilfork (1994-96). He is considered one of the nation's top senior offensive linemen in the 2012 NFL Draft.
