PRINCETON, N.J. - At the start of its annual media day on Tuesday, August 7, the Ivy League released the 2012 preseason football poll. The Lions were slotted seventh by 17 media members who participated. Harvard received 13 first-place votes to finish atop the results.

Columbia begins the 2012 season, the first under head football coach Pete Mangurian, at home on Saturday, September 15 vs. Marist. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. on Robert K. Kraft Field at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium.

The Marist game on September 15 is the first of three straight home games for the Lions to begin the 2012 season, followed by the annual Liberty Cup vs. Fordham (September 22) and the Ivy League opener against Princeton (September 29).
