Spring 2013 Coach Mangurian on Malcolm Thaxton: Athletic ability, lacked substantial playing time, will get a long look in spring. Has had a good off-season and has become more consistent and dependable. Has the ability and opportunity to challenge for a starting corner spot. 2011: Played in three games ... totaled four tackles ... also contributed on special teams. At Fuquay-Varina Senior High School: Second team all-conference as a defensive back in 2009 ... second team all-area as a kick returner/punt returner in 2009 ... first team all-conference and all-area in 2010 ... in 2010 finsihed the season with 60 tackles, 500 yeards rushing, four touchdowns, 300 yards receiving with three touchdowns ... also ran track, earning bronze in the state championships both indoor and outdoor track.
