NEW YORK - The 2012-13 Columbia men's basketball schedule is out and the Lions will begin their season on Saturday, November 10 at Furman at 4 p.m.
The schedule features 12 home games at Levien Gymnasium, including the home opener on Saturday, November 17 against Marist at 7 p.m. Following the Marist game, the Lions will take on Villanova at the Pavilion on Tuesday, November 20.
That weekend, Columbia will travel to San Francisco to participate in the University of San Francisco's Hilltop Classic on November 23 and 24.
Columbia will renew its local rivalry with LIU Brooklyn on November 28 before returning to Levien Gym to face Bucknell in another Saturday night tilt on December 1 at 7 p.m.
The Lions will play road games at Fairleigh Dickinson (Dec. 4) and American (Dec. 9) before a 13-day break for final exams. Columbia is back in action with three straight home games around the holidays, beginning with Elon on Saturday, Dec. 22.
Manhattan will visit Levien Gym for the first time since 1993 on Saturday, Dec. 29. The Lions then ring in the new year on Wednesday, January 2 against Colgate.
That game begins a string of three straight contests against Patriot League opponents before the Ivy League season begins. Columbia will travel to Army on Saturday, Jan. 5 and then will face Holy Cross on Tuesday, Jan. 8 in Worcester, Mass.
Columbia's quest for the Ivy League title begins on Saturday, Jan. 19 at Cornell. The Lions will host the Big Red a week later at Levien Gym on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m.
The final home weekend for the Lions at Levien Gym is March 1-2 when Columbia hosts Yale and Brown. Regular season play will conclude at Havard and Dartmouth on March 8-9.
