Alex Rosenberg Earns Ivy League Co-Player of the Week Accolades
PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia junior Alex Rosenberg was named Ivy League Co-Player of the Week after averaging 22 points in two contests last week. Rosenberg shares the award with Harvard’s Wesley Saunders.
After playing the role of sixth man in the Lions’ first 13 games, Rosenberg made the most of his first start against Colgate on Dec. 30. The versatile forward went off for a career-best 23 points, added nine rebounds in a thrilling come-from-behind double overtime victory over the Raiders.
Rosenberg followed up with a 21-point performance, on the strength of 9-of-10 shooting from the foul line, in an 81-61 romp of St. Francis Brooklyn on Jan. 4 to become the first player since Brian Barbour ‘13CC in January of 2012 to record two consecutive 20-plus point games.
Sophomore Maodo Lo was also selected to the Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 18 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
Columbia continues its four-game homestand on Wednesday, Jan. 8 against Stony Brook at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by clicking here. For fans who cannot make it to Levien Gymnasium, catch all the action on the Ivy League Digital Network.
