Grant Mullins Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week
The Burlington, Ontario native played a vital role in the Lions, 75-57, statement win at Villanova on Nov. 20, scoring all of his 14 points in the second half. Mullins was 4-for-6 from three-point range, and virtually all of those makes seemed to come as the Wildcats were trying to make a run to get back into the game.
In Columbia's two games at the Hilltop Challenge over the weekend, Mullins posted two more 14-point games, tying his career high, against Wayland Baptist and San Francisco. Against the Pioneers on Friday, the 6-3 guard made his first start of the season, drilling a trio of three-pointers and posting two assists in 30 minutes of work. Mullins continued his hot shooting, going 4-of-5 from beyond the arc against the Dons on Saturday.
Senior Brian Barbour also earned a spot on the weekly honor roll after averaging 12.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.7 steals in three games.
