NEW YORK – Members of the Columbia men’s basketball team took time out to help the NYCCAL run a youth basketball clinic at Devoe Park in the Bronx on Saturday, April 27.
Organized by the NYCCAL and league president Edwin Santiago, the clinic’s mission is to give local children an opportunity to participate in a productive extra-curricular activity while gaining life values such as teamwork, responsibility and trust.
The Lions’ players and staff gave shooting, dribbling, passing and defensive pointers during the event.
“Going to the Bronx and taking part in the NYCCAL's youth basketball clinic was a true joy for us to be a part of,” said Todd Golden, Columbia’s Director of Basketball Operations. “Our players understand that they are role models for these children, so being able to work with these kids was a great experience for them.”
