PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia men’s basketball senior Mark Cisco was named Ivy League Co-Player of the Week on Monday after lifting the Lions to a 67-58 victory at Cornell to open up conference play. Cisco splits the honor with Sean McGonagill of Brown.

Cisco scored 18 points, tying a personal-best, and pulled down nine rebounds on Saturday. The Chester, N.J. native made himself available off the penetration of the Lions’ guards, turning all seven of his made field goals into assists for his backcourt teammates. During a key 13-0 second half run, Cisco scored three crucial buckets to give Columbia a double-digit lead to help his team secure the win.

This marks the second time Cisco has been named Ivy League Player of the Week. Ironically, the 6'9" center was tabbed for the award after a monster 18-point, 20-rebound performance against the Big Red last season.

Senior Brian Barbour also earned a spot on the Ivy League Weekly Honor Roll after scoring 16 points and committing no turnovers in 32 minutes against the Big Red’s high-pressure defense.

Columbia will return home to Levien Gymnasium to complete the home-and-home series with Cornell on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available by clicking here or by calling (888) LIONS-11.
