NEW YORK - Senior Taylor Ward capped her Columbia career with a 16-point performance, but the Lions fell on the road Saturday in the season finale to Princeton, 92-48.

Ward was 6-of-11 from the field and 4-of-8 from downtown, while first-year Tori Oliver finished 4-of-7 for nine points.

Ward started the scoring with one of her four triples on the night, but it would be the only time Columbia led for the rest of the game. Long range shooting kept the game close early, as junior Miwa Tachibana knocked down one from behind the arc off a Sara Mead assist to make it 9-8 five minutes in.

The next five minutes went the way of the Tigers in the form of a 13-2 run, making it a 22-10 contest midway through the opening period. Ward looked to keep Columbia in striking distance, scoring five consecutive points that made it an eight point deficit, 26-18, with six minutes left in the half. Princeton controlled the remainder half, going on a 20-4 run to take a 46-22 lead into halftime.

Columbia strung together an 8-0 run midway through the second half to cut into the Tigers’ lead, but Princeton maintained its advantage through the remainder of the half, building to the 92-48 victory.
