NEW YORK -- Columbia senior women's basketball player Kathleen Barry picked up first team All-Ivy League honors, it was announced by the conference on Thursday. A first team Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-American, Barry earns Ivy League distinction for the second consecutive season (honorable mention in 2010). First-year Brianna Orlich was also one of five players in the conference to be named to the All-Rookie Team, as voted on by the League’s eight head coaches.

Barry was the heart and soul of the Columbia unit all season, averaging team-bests of 10.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game while also leading the Ivy League in steals against conference competition.

The Valley Center, Calif. native led all Ivies with seven double-doubles, including three straight on Jan. 22 vs. Cornell, Jan. 28 vs. Harvard and Jan. 29 vs. Dartmouth. The latter two earned Barry the first Ivy League Player of the Week award of her career.

Orlich cracked the starting lineup in Columbia's third game of the season and was a steady contributor all year, averaging 9.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest while averaging a team-high 29.8 minutes per game. The 5-11 guard scored 259 points in 2010-11, which ranks in a tie for sixth (Jennifer Beubis) on Columbia's all-time first-year scoring list.
