ABOUT THE MATCHUP
The return trip between travel partners through the Ivy League season will occur Saturday, Jan. 25, as the Lions head north to take on Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y. at 2:30 p.m. Columbia fended off the Big Red’s comeback efforts last Saturday at Levien Gym, downing Cornell, 71-64.

The loss snapped a three-game win streak for the Big Red, marking the first L for Cornell in 2014. Despite the defeat, senior Allyson DiMagno shared Ivy League Player of the Week accolades after scoring a game-high 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field and 7-of-7 on free throw attempts.
COLUMBIA IN IVY LEAGUE OPENERS
The Lions improved to 9-19 in conference openers since joining the Ivy League in 1986-87. WIth last Saturday’s victory, the Lions are now 4-10 when beginning Ancient Eight action at Levien. Columbia last won its first game of Ivy League play on Jan. 16, 2011, when it downed Cornell, 61-54, in front of the Lion-faithful in Levien. Columbia last won two games to begin Ivy League play during the 2009-10 season, downing Cornell on consecutive weekends in January of 2010.
LONG RANGE SPECIALISTS
Columbia posted its best 3-point shooting percentage of the season against Cornell on Jan. 18, hitting 7-of-13 attempts for a 53.8 clip. It is the second time this year Columbia has been better than 50 percent from deep after converting on 9-of-17 attempts (52.9%) at Lehigh.
FIrst-year Carolyn Binder
earned her third Ivy League Rookie of the week honor for her stellar performance against Cornell on Jan. 18. In just 18 minutes of action, Binder went 5-of-8 from the field and 4-of-5 from 3-point range for a team-best 16 points, leading Columbia to a 71-64 defeat of the Big Red. She was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the second time on Dec. 30 after scoring a team-high 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting with three treys to lead the Lions to an 87-80 win against Lehigh. She also earned the award on Nov. 18 after her 23-point performance at Lafayatte on Nov. 15. Binder hit four 3-pointers, went 5-of-6 from the charity stripe and collected five boards against the Leopards.
