NEW YORK -- After being named to the All-Ivy League second team in each of her first two seasons at Columbia, junior Ashlin Yahr picked up her first All-Ivy League first team award to highlight a group of five Lions earning all-conference accolades on Thursday. In addition to Yahr, senior Lauren Cooke was named to the All-Ivy League second team while juniors Liz Wicks and Lillian Klein, and first-year Chelsea Ryan picked up honorable mention honors.

Yahr led the Lions with seven goals in 2010, including four during Ivy play. She had three game-winners on the year including the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Cornell on Sept 24 and both scores in a 2-1 win over eventual Ivy champ Penn on Oct. 8. Her dynamic play at forward throughout her career has helped move her into fourth on Columbia's all-time goals scored list with 25, one behind former teammate Sophie Reiser.

A consistent force on the pitch throughout her time with the Lions, Cooke closes out her four-year career with her second all-conference nomination. The center back, who was an honorable mention recipient in 2008, flourished in Columbia's new three-back formation this season and again led the team with 1,605 minutes played.

Klein put together one of the top seasons by a goalkeeper in Columbia history, ranking near the top nationally in goals-against and save percentage for much of the season. The junior closed out the year with seven shutouts, one shy of the Columbia single-season record, and topped the Ivy League with a 0.76 goals-against average and .852 save percentage.

One of the top first-year players in the conference, Ryan was one of only six first-years in the conference to receive All-Ivy League recognition. The Avon, Conn. product started all 17 matches in the midfield for the Lions and tied for second on the squad in both goals and assists, while ranking third on the team in points.

Wicks was one of the most effective and consistent players for the Lions in 2010, as she used her determination and technical ability to win a high percentage of chances on the left side. The Hungerford, England native closed out the season with a goal and three assists, tying for fourth on the squad in the latter category.
