Tukwila, WA- The Seattle Sounders Women have officially signed four more players for the 2012 W-League campaign, including former Columbia standout Sophie Reiser. Reiser led the Sounders Women in goals in 2011, despite a late season injury.
Reiser tore her ACL late in the season and was forced to miss the W-League Final Four. Before joining the Sounders in 2011, Reiser played professionally for the WPS Chicago Red Stars. Reiser was drafted in 2008 after being named the Ivy League Player of the Year, while competing for the Lions.
During her tenure at Columbia she became the first Columbia women's soccer player to be named All-American by Soccer Buzz and was named Northeast Region's Player of the Year by online magazine in 2008. She also was the first Lion to earn first team National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America honors. Sophie also gained experience from the U.S. U-23 National Team.
