NEW YORK – Head women’s soccer coach Kevin McCarthy has announced a 17-game schedule for the 2013 season, featuring eight home contests to be played at the Columbia Soccer Stadium at the Baker Athletics Complex.

The Lions will open up the season with a short road trip to Riverdale, N.Y. to take on Manhattan on Friday, Sep. 6 at 7 p.m. Columbia will host Monmouth in its first home contest two days later on Sunday, Sep. 8 at 1 p.m.

A trip to Sacred Heart on Sep. 10 begins a four-match road swing for Columbia. The North Florida Tournament follows on Sep. 13 and 15 in Jacksonville, Fla. The Lions open up against Florida Atlantic and then face the host Ospreys to conclude the tournament. Upon returning to New York, the Lions will travel to Albany for a 7 p.m. contest on Sep. 20 against the Great Danes.

After two weeks on the road, Columbia returns home to host Fairleigh Dickinson on Sep. 22.

Ivy League play commences on Friday, Sep. 27 with a trip to Ithaca, N.Y. to square off against Cornell. A five-game homestand awaits the Lions upon returning to NYC. The LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds are the first team to visit Columbia Soccer Stadium on Sep. 29, with Brown (Oct. 5), NJIT (Oct. 7), Penn (Oct. 12) and Lafayette (Oct. 15) to follow.

Four Ivy League games round out the regular season, beginning with road matches at Princeton (Oct. 19) and Dartmouth (Nov. 2). The season concludes with Yale and Harvard making the trek to the Big Apple on Nov. 2 and Nov. 9, respectively.
