LAST TIME OUT: In the middle of a four game road swing, the Lions traveled to Jacksonville, Fla. for a pair of matches at the UNF Invitational. Columbia dropped a 2-1 loss to Florida Atlantic in its first contest and rebounded in its second game against North Florida that ended with a 2-2 tie following double overtime.
IVY LEAGUE WEEKLY HONORS: On Monday, the Ivy League released its third weekly honor roll for the season. For the first time this year, the Lions place two athletes on the list, including Beverly Leon and first-year goalkeeper Allison Spencer.
Leon finished the week with three points, including the game-winning goal at Sacred Heart and an assist at North Florida. Spencer put together a solid showing in goal for the Lions collecting eight saves in two games and earned her first career start against Florida Atlantic.

ABOUT ALBANY: After winning its season opener against Florida Atlantic, the Great Danes have lost six straight and hold a 1-6 overall record. Columbia will be Albany’s second test at home this season. The Lions will be Albany’s second straight Ivy League opponent following a 4-5 defeat at Cornell in the team’s last outing.
INSIDE SERIES: Friday night will mark only the second time in history these teams will compete. Columbia grabbed a victory in the previous contest during the 2004 season with a 3-0 shutout.

ABOUT FDU: Sunday night’s game against the Lions will be the Knights’ fourth straight contest on the road. FDU (3-4-0) will head to Vermont on Friday just before they enter Columbia Soccer Stadium two days later. The team’s latest win was a 1-0 victory at Lafayette.
INSIDE SERIES: The Lions are 5-0 all-time against the Knights. This season’s match will mark the teams’ first matchup in over a decade. Columbia won the last battle in 2001 with a score of 3-1.
