NEW YORK – On. Friday, Oct. 18, the Columbia baseball and softball programs joined forces to host an afternoon clinic for Level The Field.

Level The Field is a New York City based organization whose mission is to empower inner-city youth by providing a unique opportunity to work with high achieving collegiate student-athletes, both inside and outside the classroom.

“Our players had a great time teaching the kids and getting to know each one

of them,” said head baseball coach Brett Boretti. “We appreciate Erica Woda's dedication to Level The Field and are excited about continuing to build strong bonds between the Columbia Athletics community and Level The Field."

Friday’s clinic was held at Robertson Field at Satow Stadium with youth participants running through organized defensive drills conducted by Columbia baseball and softball players. Drills included pitching, catching, as well as infield and outfield defense.

The Columbia baseball and softball programs have been involved with Level The Field since its inception in 2009, by hosting a number of clinics. The Lions will host another Level The Field Clinic in late November.
