NEW YORK – The Columbia men’s golf team will compete for the second time this spring when it participates in the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Villanova on Monday, March 31 and Tuesday, April 1.

The event will take place at the White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pa. The course is currently the No. 3 ranked "Modern Design" course and 14th best overall in the state of Pennsylvania by Golf Week Magazine. It was redesigned and completely renovated in 2003 by Bobby Weed Design of Pointe Vedra Beach, Fla. and won the U.S. Course Renovation of the Year in 2003 by Golf, Inc. It's a 7,009 yard, 71-par course measured by the silver tees.

Sixteen teams plus 10 individual competitors will hit the links for the two-day event as 90 student-athletes will play for the team and individual titles. Live scoring will be available on and spectators are encouraged to attend free of admission.

Round 1 tee time on Monday is set for 7:30am and will be followed by round two at 12:30 pm. On Tuesday, competition will resume at 8am for the final 18 holes.

Army, Binghamton, Bucknell, Butler, Columbia, Delaware, Drexel, Fordham, La Salle, Lehigh, Manhattan, Monmouth, Rhode Island, Wagner, Youngstown State and Villanova are the teams that will compete in the two-day event.

Columbia is coming off a 12th-place finish at The Desert Classic in Arizona after shooting the program’s lowest team round of 275 in the final round at Palm Valley Golf Club. Harrison Shih led the Lions on that final day with a 67, while Brandon Jowers and Andrew Kim each carded 69’s. Jowers finished the tournament tied for 19th to lead eight Columbia competitors.
