Columbia will send a five-man squad to compete in the Princeton Invitational from April 14-15 at Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, N.J. The event will feature 14 teams: Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Harvard, Penn, Princeton (A & B), Rider, Rutgers, Saint Joseph's, Temple and Yale. The first tee times of the 54-hole tournament will be at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday. Sunday’s third and final round will commence at 8:30 a.m. Yale is the defending team champion.
Columbia took seventh place at the 2011 Princeton Invitational. Brendan Doyle led the way, tying for 18th place with a 77-71-72—220 (+7).
Three Lions will head to Hampshire Country Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y., as individual entries in the 36-hole Manhattanville/NYU Spring Invitational. Fourteen teams will be represented in the tournament, including Columbia, Delhi, Farmingdale, Hamilton, Manhattanville, Middlebury, NYU, Stevens, Rochester, RPI, Skidmore, St. Lawrence, Trinity and Williams. Saturday’s first round will feature a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m and Sunday’s final round begin at 8 a.m.
Andrew Kim tied for first place at last year’s Manhattanville/NYU Spring Invitational, shooting 74-71—145 (+1).
The Lions are coming off an 11th-place showing at the UALR First Tee Classic, held March 26-27 at Chenal Country Club (Little Rock, Ark.). Kim was Columbia’s top finisher, tying for 15th at 76-73-76—225 (+9).
