ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Columbia men’s golfer Harrision Shih has been selected to the Division I PING All-Northeast Region Team, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Tuesday.
Shih concluded his rookie campaign in Morningside Heights with an eighth-place finish and second team All-Ivy League honors at the conference championship tournament on April 28.
In the individual rankings, Shih’s average round score of 74.45 was the eighth-lowest in the Ivy League. The Columbia first-year posted the conference’s lowest single round score of the entire year, shooting a 65 during the final round of the McLaughlin on Sep. 16, 2012 on Bethpage’s Red Course. Shih also led the Lions with 59 birdies this season.
The eighth-place finish at the Ivy League Championships was the third top 10 of the year for Shih. He claimed fifth at the Princeton Invitational and seventh at the Yale Spring Opener. Over winter break, Shih was invited to participate in the Patriot All-America Golf Tournament, finishing in a tie for 16th at the prestigious tournament.
