Men's Golf Opens Spring Campaign at USF Triumph at Pauma Valley

SAN FRANCISCO -- The three-time defending Ivy League champion Columbia men's golf team begins its quest of a fourth straight crown on Monday, as it travels to the west coast to take part in the spring-season-opening Triumph at Pauma Valley, hosted by the University of San Francisco. A quality 12-team field will compete on a par-71 course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., playing at 7,077 yards.

Play will begin with 36 holes on Monday, followed by final round action on Tuesday. Live scoring for the tournament will be available on, through and scores will be updated twice during each round.

The Lions are coming off a successful fall season, which they concluded with a victory at The Classic at Shelter Bay. First-year Jordan Lee leads Columbia in scoring at 72.40 strokes per round, while three other Lions are averaging sub-75 rounds (Brendan Doyle -- 74.38; Clark Granum -- 74.20; and Michael Yiu -- 74.30).

Last season, Columbia competed in the event and finished sixth out of 12 teams. Current senior Justin Lee was the top individual finisher, closing in a tie for 13th at 226.

Tournament Format: 54 Hole Tournament with 36 holes on Monday, Mach 14 (from the first and the 10th tees) followed by the final round on Tuesday (shotgun start).
