Men's Golf Finishes Day One of Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Columbia men's golf team completed the first two rounds of play at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday. The Lions rounded out the day with a 295, improving by 11 strokes on their first-round score.

Sophomore Michael Yiu was the top finisher on day one for Columbia, closing at 147 to put him in 18th place entering the final day of competition. Junior Brendan Doyle fired a second-round 71, the best round for any Lion golfer on the day, and is tied for 19th place at 148.

Yale currently leads the team portion of the tournament by 13 strokes over Penn after posting 565 over two rounds. Tom McCarthy and Sam Bernstein of Yale are tied with Peter Williamson of Dartmouth for the individual lead at 140.

The third and final round of the Princeton Invitational will commence on Sunday, April 10.
