Men's Golf Takes 3rd At Ivy League Championship; Yiu Finishes 2nd
The Lions carded 29-over 312 in Sunday’s final round and concluded the conference championship at 312-296-312—920 (+68). Dartmouth and Penn tied for the lead at the end of regulation at 65-over 917. Penn won the team championship on the third playoff hole. Dartmouth’s Peter Williamson was the individual champion with a 73-69-71—213 (E).
Yiu concluded a strong tournament performance with a 1-over 72 in the final round to finish at 76-73-72—221 (+8). He was 1-under 34 through the front nine with birdies on no. 8 and no. 9. Yiu birdied holes 11 and 16 and shot 2-over 38 on the back nine. Over all 54 holes, Yiu tallied 10 birdies. He earned First Team All-Ivy League honors, marking the second time in his career he was named to the all-conference team.
Sophomore Jordan Lee tied for 11th after shooting 78-74-80—232 (+19). Sophomore Andrew Kim tied for 15th after carding a 79-73-81—233 (+20).
Competing in his fourth consecutive Ivy League Men’s Golf Championship, senior Brendan Doyle tied for 17th. He shot 79-76-79—234 (+21). His final hole as a Columbia Lion was a birdie on the par-4, 442-yard 18th. Doyle tallied seven birdies for the tournament.
Competing in his second Ivy League Championship, junior Ford Fischer tied for 33rd at 86-78-83—247 (+34).
