NEW YORK - The 2012-13 Columbia men's golf schedule is out and features an opening scrimmage against Army on Saturday, September 8 at 9 a.m. at The Tuxedo Club in Tuxedo Park, N.Y.
The scrimmage is in support of Patriot Golf Day, the flagship fundraiser for the Folds of Honor Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides postsecondary educational scholarships for the children and spouses of military men and women disabled or killed while serving our great nation. The Patriot Golf Day campaign is jointly supported by The PGA of America and the United States Golf Association.
That kicks off Columbia's fall schedule, which continues on September 15-16 at the McLaughlin, hosted by St. John's on the venerable Bethpage Red course on Long Island.
Friday, September 21 marks the ninth annual Jack Rohan Alumni Golf Tournament at Tuxedo Park. Interested parties can register online.
The Lions will play at the MacDonald Cup at Yale on September 29-30, then will travel to Chicago to take on DePaul on October 6-7 at Chicago's Ruffled Feathers Golf Club. The fall season concludes on October 13-14 at Philadelphia's Big 5 Invitational at the Philly Cricket Club.
The spring season starts on March 24-25 at the Seahawk Invitational in Wilmington, North Carolina. Two weeks later, the Lions will return to The Course at Yale for the Yale Invitational on April 6.
On April 13-14, Columbia travels to the Springdale Golf Club in New Jersey to take part in the Princeton Invitational. The Lions advance further down the coast on April 20-21 to play in the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Md.
The annual Ivy League Championship will begin on Friday, April 26 in Owings Mills, Md. at the Caves Valley Golf Club. The three-day tournament ends on Sunday, April 28.
