Columbia women's golfer Camilla Vik placed second at the Norwegian Amateur Open over the weekend. Vik fired a -1 in the 72-hole event and was just one of two participants that shot under par at the tournament.
The sophomore, who holds dual citizenship in the United States and Norway, led after the opening round on Thursday, scoring a 68 to sit at -4. However, the eventual winner Mariell Bruun took control with a -8, 65 in round two and never looked back.
Vik played in seven tournaments as a first-year in 2013-14. Her high mark came at the Roar-EE Invitational when she finished tied for fifth place to help the Lions claim the team victory. Vik also capped her rookie season with an 11th place showing at the Ivy League Championships.
