Women's Golf Concludes First Day of Nittany Lion Invitational

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The Columbia University women's golf team played 36 holes on the opening day of the Nittany Lion Invitational on Saturday. The Lions shot consecutive rounds of 315 and stand in 14th place as a team.

First-year Michelle Piyapattra again led the way for Columbia, as her back-to-back 75's have her in 12th place individually. Junior Robin Lee matched her teammate with a second-round 75 and is tied for 49th at 158. First-year Jane Dong and junior Lynda Kwon are tied for 66th at 161 while sophomore Ashley Zambito totaled 167 over her first two rounds and is tied for 87th.

Western Michigan and host Penn State are tied for the team lead at 600. Kaylee Imel of Western Michigan is leading the tournament by a shot at 145.

The third and final round of the Nittany Lion Invitational will commence on Sunday, Oct. 3.
