Women's Golf in Fifth Place After First Day of Harvard Invitational

BOLTON, Mass. -- The Columbia University women's golf team completed the first day of the Harvard Invitational and sits in fifth place as a team at 328. The Lions are five strokes behind Penn for fourth place, while the host Crimson lead the event at 302.

First-year Michelle Piyapattra shot a 78 to lead Columbia, and is tied for 13th place individually. Junior Lynda Kwon stands in 19th position after an opening-round 81, while classmate Robin Lee is tied for 22nd at 84. First-year Jane Dong and sophomore Ashley Zambito each closed the day tied for 24th at 85.

Seo Hee Moon of Yale holds a one-stroke lead heading into the final day at 74. Harvard's Bonnie Hu and Mia Kabasakalis each shot 75 and are tied for second with Penn's Isabel Han.

The final round of the Harvard Invitational will take place on Sunday, Oct. 17.
