NEW YORK – The Columbia women’s golf team will host the Sixth Annual Roar-EE Invitational April 13-14 at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, N.Y.

The 36-hole, par-72 event will be held on the hilly tree-lined course and span 6,008 yards. Participating teams include Albany, Boston University, Columbia, Dartmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson, Harvard, Hofstra, Lehigh, LIU, Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Quinnipiac and Wagner.

Tee times for Friday’s first round will be posted on this page Thursday afternoon. Play will start from the first tee on both days. Friday’s first round starts at 9:30 a.m. and Saturday’s final round will begin at 10 a.m. with nine-minute intervals. An awards presentation recognizing the first and second place teams, the individual champion and the runner-up will be held following the final round at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The Roar-EE Invitational individual champion has hailed from Columbia in each of the past two seasons. Last season, then-first-year Michelle Piyapattra took home the individual crown after carding a 74-38—112 (+4) after the second half of the final round was cancelled due to inclement weather. Then-senior Nancy Shon won the Roar-EE in 2010 when she fired a 71-77—148 (+4) to tie for first place with Harvard’s Mia Kabasakalis. Shon won the tiebreaker with a better score on the back nine.

The Lions are coming off one of their best performances of the season. On March 20, Columbia took second place in the Monterey Bay Invitational at Del Monte Golf Club after rallying back from a 20-stroke deficit entering the final round to finish just three shots back of first place. The Lions carded their lowest team round of the year in the final 18 with 12-over 300.

Results and recaps of each day of competition will be posted on and on following each round. Admission to the tournament is free of charge.
