GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Columbia women’s golf team took fourth place at the 2012 Ivy League Women’s Golf Championship on Sunday at Seaview Golf Resort’s Bay Course. Sophomore Michelle Piyapattra was named the 2012 Ivy League Player of the Year during the awards ceremony.

The Lions finished at 338-311-323—972 (+120). Harvard won the event with a 332-308-312—952 (+100) and the Crimson’s Bonnie Hu took the conference’s individual crown after shooting 77-73-75—225 (+12).

Piyapattra is Columbia’s first Ivy League Player of the Year. She posted seven top 10s on the year, including seven top 5s and wins at the Harvard Invitational and the 6th Annual ROAR-EE Invitational. Piyapattra also posted a 74.52 round average over nine events (23 rounds) this year. She took fourth place at the Ivy League Championship after shooting 80-73-80—233 (+20) to earn First Team All-Ivy League honors for the second-straight year.

Sophomore Jane Dong took 18th place after finishing with an 86-80-82—248 (+35). First-year Lisa Combs and senior Robin Lee tied for 19th. Combs shot 85-84-80—249 (+36). Lee shot 87-81-81—249 (+36). Senior Lynda Kwon tied for 22nd at 88-77-86—251 (+38).
