CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Three Columbia women’s golf student-athletes were named to the 2011-12 National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team for Division I, as announced by the NGCA on July 6.

Lisa Combs, Jane Dong and Ashley Zambito had outstanding academic performances this past season to earn recognition on the All-American Scholar Team. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.

Combs, a biology major, played in seven events this past season as a first-year, including six as a member of the starting five.

Dong had a strong sophomore year, posting a pair of top-10 finishes. The financial economics major was also named to the All-American Scholar team in 2010-11.

Zambito played in four events a junior. She is an economics major and is also making her second appearance on the All-American Scholar Team after earning the honors in 2010-11.
