Scouting the Big Red
Cornell is in the midst of a long road streak, as the Big Red have played three matches on the road, and have two more after this weekend’s context. Cornell is 8-4 coming into the match against the Lions, with losses to Princeton, Columbia, UNC Wilmington and the College of Charleston.

These two teams last saw each other in mid-February, as first round losses at the ECAC tournament led to a Cornell-Columbia showdown in the back draw. The Lions came out on top in that matchup, beating the Big Red, 5-2. Columbia won the doubles point in the top two spots, and got singles wins from Nicole Bartnik, Bianca Sanon, Katarina Kovacevic and Tiana Takenaga at Nos.1-2 and 4-5. A battle-tested Columbia squad will be looking to replicate that win this weekend.

Last Time Out
The Lions are currently riding a four-match winning streak that started over spring break. Columbia has beaten Southern Mississippi, FIU, and just last weekend, William & Mary and Old Dominion, to improve to 9-3 overall. Most recently, the Lions notched four quick singles wins to end the match in Virginia, beating ODU before it got to doubles, 4-0.

Up Next
Columbia will hit the road for the second weekend of Ivy League play, taking on Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H., Friday, April 6 at noon, followed by Harvard in Cambridge, Mass., Saturday, April 7 at noon.
