NEW YORK - Cross country's Nicolas Composto and Waverly Neer have been selected as Columbia's Male and Female Student-Athletes of the Month for November after strong postseason performances.

Composto took second place at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships on Nov. 2 to help Columbia win its fourth conference title. His runner-up finish earned him first team All-Ivy League honors. The senior followed with a 10th place performance at the NCAA Northeast Regional (30:28.3) to guide the Lions to a runner-up finish and secure an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. Composto closed out his season with a 30th place time of  30:37.8 to pick up All-America honors at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships.

Neer also grabbed second place at Heps to earn first team All-Ivy League honors and was beaten only by the eventual individual National Champion Abbey D'Agostino from Dartmouth. The junior standout then finished fourth at the NCAA Northeast Regional to pick up All-Region honors and punched a ticket to the NCAA National Championships.
