NEW YORK – In “Inside Columbia Athletics” Episode 16 Part 2, host Dalen Cuff interviews head fencing coach Michael Aufrichtig. With four current or former student-athletes and Aufrichtig himself representing the U.S. in the 2012 Olympics, the Columbia fencing program is set to shine on an international stage.

Columbia fencing's four Olympians representing the U.S. include James Williams '07CC (men's sabre), Jeff Spear '10CC (men's sabre replacement), Nicole Ross '12CC (women's foil) and Nzingha Prescod'15CC (women's foil).

Aufrichtig will serve as the fencing coach for the U.S. modern pentathlon. He has served in that role previously in the Pan American Games.

In Part 1 of Episode 16, we caught up with 2012 Olympian Erison Hurtault, who will represent Dominica in the men’s 400m, and Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Willy Wood, who has two former Lions already qualified for the Olympics and three more at the U.S. trials.
