Darlene Camacho
Position: Associate Athletics Director
Darlene Camacho began her tenure at Columbia University in August 2003 as an Assistant Sports Information Director and in October 2008, Camacho was promoted to Associate Athletics Director for sports information/media relations.

Camacho is the primary sports information contact for football, while also handling media requests for Athletics Director M. Dianne Murphy, Columbia Athletics Administration and also supervising selected special projects.

Camacho manages the day-to-day operations of the Office of Sports Information which coordinates and maintains the official Columbia Athletics website, www.gocolumbialions.com, plans and designs all printed material produced by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education and handles statistical and operational support to all of Columbia's 31 varsity athletics teams. The website was redesigned in Fall 2008 and printed materials produced include but are not limited to, media guides, programs, newsletters and promotional pieces.

While at Columbia, she's worked with men's basketball, football, field hockey, men and women's golf, baseball, men and women's tennis, track and field and volleyball. She is also a member of the Columbia Athletics Awards Committee.

Camacho came to Columbia after serving as director of sports information and compliance at Mount Olive College for one year, and two years as the sports information assistant at Manhattan College. While at Manhattan she worked primarily with men and women's soccer, women's basketball, men's lacrosse and track and field.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Camacho worked for the Carolina Men's Basketball program all four years as an undergrad and was a student assistant in the Carolina Office of Athletic Media Relations as a junior and senior. She earned a B.A. in journalism and mass communications in 1999.

Camacho is currently working towards her master's degree in Columbia's sports management program. She has four sisters and a brother, Nelson Daniel, who is an assistant coach on Colby College's men's basketball staff.

A Jersey City, N.J. native, Camacho resides in Secaucus, New Jersey.
