Craig LaBianco joined the Columbia athletic training staff in August 2010. He will work primarily with the Lions' football and baseball teams.
LaBianco comes to Morningside Heights after four years at James Caldwell High School in West Caldwell, N.J. where he was the head athletic trainer responsible for the evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and care of 500 student-athletes.
For the past five years, LaBianco has also worked at JAG Physical Therapy in West Orange, N.J. as an athletic training clinician. At JAG, LaBianco facilitated rehabilitation for patients and athletes and was the continuing education coordinator.
Prior to working at Caldwell, LaBianco was the head athletic trainer at St. Benedict's Prep in Newark for two years. In 2005, he also served as the head athletic trainer of the Newark Bears, a professional baseball team in the Atlantic League.
LaBianco has extensive baseball experience, having completed internships with the Tampa Bay Rays, Hudson Valley Renegades and at Eastern Kentucky, from where he received a master of science degree in physical education in 2004.
LaBianco graduated from Salisbury University in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in exercise science. An avid golfer, LaBianco and his wife, Danielle, live in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.
