OZONE PARK, N.Y. - Last month the Columbia archery team competed at the New York State Indoor Championships on March 5. Results were calculated and recently released, and the results were great for the Columbia archers.
In the collegiate compound division, Sydney Shaefer and Mary Quien both had strong showings. Shaefer finished with a total of 559, while Quien shot a season-high 522.
In the recurve division, Sarah Chai continued to pace the Lions after finishing with a 549, narrowly edging her classmate Anna Harrington who shot a 542. Maya Inamura's 499 was the third highest total in the division, while Sara Lavenhar and Aaqilah Chambers rounded out the top-five with 479 and 422, respectively.
Donju Min also broke the 400-barrier with a 406 to rank sixth overall, followed by Marilyn He's 395 and Kate Cwynar's 326.
Columbia returns to action on Friday, April 8 when it competes in the Nanook of the North in Manchester, Conn.
