NEW YORK - The 2011 National Championship Columbia archery team will be recognized this weekend in a ceremony at halftime of the women's basketball game against Cornell. The team will be presented with their national championship rings by Associate Athletics Director for Intercollegiate Sports Programs Darrice Griffin, as they are recognized by Columbia fans at halfcourt in Levien Gymnasium.

Last May, the Columbia archery team won a thrilling match-up against Texas A&M at the 2011 United States Intercollegiate Archery Championships. The Lions pulled out a dramatic 10-9 win over the Aggies to claim the national championship title in the recurve division. The win marked the first national title for the Lions since 2008.

Tickets for the game, which is part of a doubleheader with the men's game, are available here. Columbia and Barnard students gain free admission with their student ID. The women's game starts at 4:30 p.m., with the men slated to follow at 7 p.m.
