NEW YORK – On Sunday, March 11, Columbia's fencing team will begin its postseason, taking on the northeast region's best at the 2012 NCAA Northeast Regionals at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m.

The Lions will look to qualify the maximum of 12 individuals to the NCAA Championships. The NCAA Championships accept only two fencers from each school in each of the six weapons.

The 2012 NCAA Fencing Championships are set to take place from March 22-25 on the campus of Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.

In its last time out, Columbia's men and women's sabre squads each earned silver medals, and women's epee gained a bronze, to lead the Lion fencers in the second annual United States Collegiate Weapon Squad Championships at NYU's Coles Gymnasium on February 26.
