LANCASTER, Pa. – Columbia field hockey’s Christina Freibott has been selected to compete with the “High Performance Team” that will participate the USA Women’s National Championships, where she will compete against the top collegiate players and members of the National Team next week from June 16-24.

"We are proud of Christina's selection to the USA's High Performance Women's National Championship team,” head coach Marybeth Freeman stated. “She will be able to learn and implement different components of the game into her skill sets while competing against the best in the country. I know she will take a tremendous amount away from her experience while also leaving her mark within the high performance program."

The annual event allows athletes to train at High Performance sites throughout the country in the hopes of being named to the Women's National Championship squad for their region. The six regional squads then face off with the prestigious title of national champion on the line.

Freibott, a strong two-way midfielder, tallied 16 points, scoring five goals and a team-high six assists. Fore her efforts, the Wilmington, Delaware, product earned NFHCA All-Mideast Region and All-Ivy League second team honors in 2013.
