Field Hockey Coaches and Columbia Alumnae Compete at Harrow Cup
PHILADELPHIA – Columbia field hockey saw three alumnae, three current and two past members of its coaching staff compete at the Harrow Cup at Temple University over the weekend.
Megan Davidson’s ‘09CC team, the Mambas, claimed first place at the inaugural post-graduate event. The Titans, featuring Maggie O’Connor ‘12CC finished in second place.
Head coach Marybeth Freeman, assistant coaches Caroline Nichols and Dani Forword, Desiree Scherf ‘12CC along with former Lions’ assistant coaches Tracy Larson and Katie Grant also were competitors at the tournament.
"The Harrow Cup was such a wonderfully run and competitive tournament for post collegiate athletes,” said Freeman. “It was a fun environment where past teammates became new rivals and former collegiate rivals became new teammates. We are hoping this tournament continues in the future to provide the oldies, but goodies, the chance to compete at a high level!"
