Heavyweights Compete at Eastern Sprints on Sunday

NEW YORK - Ranked 14th in the latest USRowing Collegiate poll, Columbia's heavyweight crew will participate in the annual Eastern Sprints Regatta this Sunday, May 13 on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.

After winning three Cup races to start the spring season, Columbia faltered a bit in the middle of the year but bounced back with a strong showing in its last outing at the Stevenson Cup Regatta. Columbia nearly missed an upset of fifth-ranked Navy, coming within three seconds of the victory in the varsity eight race.

The ECAC will be broadcasting the Eastern Sprints live on Sunday. Fans can access the broadcasts live on Stretchinternet.com.

The morning heat schedule follows. Finals will take place in the afternoon on Sunday, based on the morning's results.
