Lightweight Rowing to Compete at Annual Eastern Sprints on Sunday

NEW YORK - The Columbia lightweights enter Sunday's Eastern Sprints seeded seventh in the regatta and appear poised to break into the Grand Final with a strong showing at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.

Ranked as high as sixth during the 2012 season, Columbia has performed well this season with wins over Navy, Penn in the Dodge Cup Regatta and MIT in the Geiger Cup Regatta.

The ECAC will be broadcasting the Eastern Sprints live on Sunday. Fans can access the broadcasts live on Stretchinternet.com.

The morning heat schedule follows. Finals will take place in the afternoon on Sunday, based on the morning's results.

9:12 a.m.   Freshman Eights - Yale, Cornell, Navy, Columbia, Georgetown
10:24 a.m.   Second Varsity Eights - Cornell, Navy, Columbia, Harvard
Noon Varsity Eights - Dartmouth, Georgetown, Cornell, Columbia, MIT
